Jaipur: The 4th edition of Jaipur Art Summit (JAS 2016) is all set to begin from tomorrow. The Inaugural Session of the Summit will take place at 11.00 am at the Front Lawn of the Ravindra Manch.
The 5 day event will witness various segments like art talks and discussions, Book Release; Art Movies; Creative Work Shop; Art & Musical Performance; Demonstration of Traditional Art Forms; International Artist Camp; Art Exhibition & Galleries Show; Calligraphy; Art Installations, among others.
Artists from different countries such as Austria, Argentina, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, France, Germany, Hungry, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Myanmar, New Zealand, Netherlands, Nigeria, Singapore, Sri-Lanka, Sudan, Sweden, Ukraine, UAE, UK, USA, and Vietnam will showcase their art at the event and will also participate in various activities to promote the craft.
Art Talk & Discussion:
There will be launching of ‘Art Portal’ (www.moomalartnews.com) (from 2 pm to 2.15 pm) at the Mini Auditorium. It will be followed by the discussions on ‘The maker’s perspective – arts, crafts and design’ - by Ayush Kasliwal, Jaipur, jointly with Swaroop Biswas, Mumbai and Himmat Shah, Jaipur at 2.30 pm to 3.45 pm.
Book Release
A Book ‘The Stream -- Poetry with Paintings’ by Dinesh Kumar from New Delhi will be released from 3.45 pm to 4 pm at the Mini Auditorium.
Art Movies
A Short Film ‘A Painter in the Woods, Ukraine’ by Thomos Schumacher, (from 4 pm to 5.30 pm) (duration 22minutes) and an animation film ‘Sound of Joy, India by Sukankan Roy (duration 52m) will be screened at the Mini Auditorium.
Creative Workshops
‘Presentation & Creative Workshop on Indian Folk Art’ by Stroke Arts Studio, Singapore will be organized from (1 pm to 4 pm) on 2nd Floor.
Art and Musical Performances
At the Front Lawns there will be various art and musical performances like Sitar performance by Imran Khan from Mumbai at 11 am to 11.30 am, followed by an art performance by Jeetin Rangher from Bangalore at 1 pm to 2.30 pm. Later in the evening will be a vocal performance Vocalist –Spice Route by Chinmayi Tripathi from New Delhi from 5.15 pm to 6 pm.
Demonstration of Tribal & Traditional Arts:
The art lovers will witness the live demonstration of various tribal and traditional arts at the 5 day ‘JAS 2016’ from 10 am to 6 pm.
International Artist Camps
Various sculptors and contemporary artists will be participating in the international artist camps at the Ground Floor Lobby from 11 am to 6 pm while from 8 December to 11 December it will be organized from 10 am to 6 pm.
Moreover Art Exhibition & Gallery Show from U.A.E, U.K and Mumbai, will to name a few amongst many others will be displayed. Calligraphy workshop will be conducted on all 5 days, Along with art installations by many artists from Jaipur.
The Main attraction for this year’s JAS will be 4500 Lord Ganesha on a Single Canvas; Largest Circular Canvas Painting – A Limca Book of Record; Largest Kolhapuri Chappals Installation - A Limca Book of Record; Photography contest and photo gallery by Photofie; Ramayana - A Visual Narrative in Madhubani Paintings; Tallest Kathakali Chairs Installation- A Limca Book of Record; and Tribute to Cartoonist Sudhir Tailang.
