  • a)      Considering a steep decline in human values, moral character and ethical conduct in all professions, sections and segments of society including that of media, there is an urgent need for inner empowerment and value orientation of peoples’ life especially of media professionals to arrest the decline and to restore sanity, civility, peace, positivity, order and development in personal, professional and public spheres.
  • b)      Mass media professionals basically being the constitutional conscience-keepers of people, nation and various organs of governance, need to practice and promote spiritual wisdom, universal values, Rajyoga meditation, simple and healthy lifestyle for the much needed social transformation towards holistic and sustainable health, harmony, happiness and growth in all walks of life.

  • c)      Considering the glaring rich-poor, urban-rural and forward-backward gap in reach and access to local, regional, national and global pool of knowledge, information, resources, products, services and technology, there is great need for increasing focus on development communication, citizen journalism, self-regulated, value-based, proactive and solution oriented journalism in all forms of media communication.
  • d)      As media has remained a powerful catalyst and change agent since ages, it is high time that modern mass media need to disseminate, cultivate and spread wisdom and awareness on the merits of transformational change and non-violent communication at consciousness, thinking, attitudinal and behavioral levels for creating a climate and culture of peace, co-operation, care, concern, humanism, non-violence and respect for nature which are essential to build better life, environment and society.
  • e)      Media content being the key to motivate and mould public opinion, increasing inputs of core values, positivity, spirituality, creative ideas and constructive intent in mass media content are highly imperative for successful and effective implementation of public interest projects and for ensuring the benefits to reach the masses in time.
  • f)       The participating mass media professionals resolved to extend their moral and media support to like-minded public welfare organisations such as the Brahma Kumaris, in fostering latter’s secular, scientific, socio-spiritual and value educational teachings, trainings and practices among wide spectrum of people and cross sections of society.
  • g)      The participating media professionals also resolved to overcome their constant conflict of interests between human values and professional values, by always letting themselves to be guided by their inner voice and innate conscience, with the help of spiritual self-introspection and silent contemplation, while discharging daily duties.
